Exploring fitness, health, and all things rebounder related.

Targeting belly fat? You bet!

There is the wide held belief that though most people want to lose their belly fat first, that you can’t target your stomach. Instead, you have to just exercise and lose weight in a healthy, steady manner, and accordingly you will eventually start thinning out that gut.

Although this is true to some extent, it is not exactly true.

This is because when you tone your body, you aren’t just burning fat – you’re building muscle. And it is this process that allows you to accomplish three important things that allow you to, in fact, target belly fat:

  1. Firstly, when you expend all the glycogen in your muscles in one specific part of your body, your body will naturally try to refuel those muscles as locally as possible. This is why if you only lift dumbbells in one specific manner, the muscles that get activated the most will thin out the surrounding fat quicker than other parts of your body.
  2. Secondly, and probably most importantly, as you build muscle around your stomach, it begins to shape the way you look more than the fat. So if two people have the same amount of belly fat but one has a lot more muscle definition, they will most certainly look much thinner than the other.
  3. Thirdly, and finally, we merge the first two points to this – as you build muscle, it consumes more glycogen, and therefore, will burn more of the surrounding fat. It increases the pace the more you work it.

So how does one accomplish this? Well, you need to continuously strain your stomach muscles so they constantly try to convert fat into energy! Easier said than done.

How many ab exercises do you know of?

Leg lifts? Sit ups? Crunches? Yes, these are all exercises, but more than expend all your ab glycogen, they are more meant to build muscle. And although this is useful, this is a tedious and non-rewarding process in the short term.

The solution? Rebound! The Needak Rebounder offers a very unique benefit specific to this endeavor because every time you jump and land, fighting the force of gravity, it is specifically your core strength that is used to maintain balance and posture. This means that every time you bounce on your rebounder, you are activating and expending energy in and around the circumference of your waist. This includes your back, your abs, and your love handles.

These are, in fact, some of the most difficult parts of the body to target in normal exercises.

Trying to thin love handles, the lower back, and your abs are very difficult indeed. And to be able to do this continuously, every day, for an hour or more is nearly impossible without a rebounder.

Fact is that we have personally witnesses changes in people’s body structure that follows atypical patterns, especially if they are rebounding as their primary cardiovascular exercise. We have seen overweight people reasonably quickly start seeing muscle definition around their stomach areas specifically due to using their Needak Rebounder on a daily basis.

So if you want to target your belly fat and love handles, we recommend integrating rebounding as a central part of your cardio workouts. You will see and feel changes quicker than you expect!
